311 Days to Go...

Forgive me Followers; it has been 14 days since my last blog... You will be pleased to note that my training has undergone a dramatic turn and I am now churning out the kilometers.......NOT. But I have engaged the services of a GB Tri-Athlete to keep me on the straight and narrow path of long distance riding...but her services only take effect from 1st January 2012. And, I have soaked the bike rack bolts that used to hold my school bag on in WD40 for the last week, so I reckon I'm just about ready to try and remove it from my treadly! In other training news I am compiling inspirational training tunes for my iPod, so any suggestions for upbeat, motivational and pumping tunes much appreciated….one from each of you should help my cause!! In personal news, I really need this training to start, but I refuse to do anything before Christmas as it is SO my time to eat, drink and be merry…. Starting with my Work Christmas Do last weekend...2 words…Free Bar…. 1 st Note To Self – Do ...

1st December 2011 – 325 days to go.

Hi Peeps, Just over a month ago I signed up for the Ride to Conquer Cancer, a 200 kilometer charity bike ride over 2 days to raise money for the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research. To date, I have got as far as getting my old racing bike out of my Mum’s shed,   getting rid of the dozens of spiders that called my old treadly home, and going to see the nice man with bizarrely pierced face in the local bike shop to see if resurrection of said treadly was possible.   In terms of training so far, I have twice read the 2012 manual that was thoughtfully posted to me, and highlighted the important bits in it with my trusty yellow highlighter, like medical support, what meals are available and details of the massage and alcohol available after the first days riding. Oh, I have also attended a rider orientation meeting and collected my free t-shirt! My motivation however, is high. Over the last few years I have watched dear friends do the most amazing things like run...
